Technical Writers
Docs done right
What’s a great software if nobody knows how to use it? Documentation can sometimes fall to the wayside or get delayed until the end of the development cycle. When this happens, everyone suffers: the users, who don’t have the information they need; The support team, who have to deal with a backlog of questions from everyone.
We’ve all been there at some point in our lives – staring down at the pages of an anemic user guide or badly organized reference guide. Because we understand the importance of documentation, and the invaluable ability to write, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to help create website content, tutorials, and end user documentation.
Why contribute?
- Contribute to the Metasploit Framework, downloaded by over one million people in the past year
- Build a career by demonstrating your expertise for the world’s leading penetration testing platform
- Provide invaluable knowledge and resources to the entire Metasploit community
- Improve the existing state of the documentation
- Add writing samples to your portfolio and experience to your resume
- Have written work published for all to see
Do you have the skills?
If you can read Ruby and have some experience with the Metasploit Framework, we’d love to have you on our team as a technical writer for the Metasploit Project.
Oh, let’s not forget the opportunity to grow into a full-time paid position. The Metasploit Project is backed by Rapid7, so a sweet reward may not be that far down the road.
Find a career
Many of our volunteer contributors have joined us here at Rapid7 in paid full-time positions. We’re always growing our team. If you are interested in a career with the Metasploit Project or Rapid7, please check for updates on Rapid7 job opportunities. Good luck
